"Club Carl" was hatched by those heads from the much-beloved Shuffle Function morning show during Carl's past two stints as Program Director for a Day. "Club Carl" is Carl's ode to all things swingin': lounge, swing, and exotica. "Club Carl" is not merely a style of music, but a lifestyle.
This show was our first installment in a new feature on Free Form Freakout we are simply calling our "Monthly Showcase". Once a month we would like to focus our music on a particularly genre, concept, theme, artist, location, food group, astrological sign, etc, etc. Really, we're not all that sure what it's going to be. While we both love playing new music on a weekly basis, we felt this may be a good way to dig through our music collections and put them to good use (Let's face it, when you get into the thousands you need some focus to help the selection process). Anyways, we would love to get input from listeners for future 'showcases'. Feel free to leave us a comment or e-mail us at fffreakout@hotmail.com. We are already enthused about a listener's request for a show involving Bill Murray. Stay tuned!
